Self-Employed Enquiries on the Rise

self employed enqiry numberA recent report in the Telegraph has shown the shocking rise in investigations launched by HMRC into self-employed individuals. The figures have risen from 119,000 in 2011/12 to 237,215 in 2012/13.

These statistics coincide with the extra 200 investigators that have been employed by HMRC in the last 3 years which means that there are now over 1,600 investigators in their ranks.

It would also appear that the rise in investigations are now reaching outside of the public sector and into other areas such as financial institutions, large national and multi-national companies.

For those who do not have any form of tax protection, now would be a good time to act upon this. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0116 2690 999 or alternatively email us at
