Public liability insurance will provide protection for the legal and compensation costs should a third party, such as a client or member of the public, make a claim against you.
Public liability insurance provides cover for the policyholder for the financial costs of legal action made against them in respect of injury or property damage to a third party which occurs due to your business activities and during the period of insurance.
The coverage provided by public liability insurance can be understood in two categories:
Should a third party bring legal action against your business, alleging that you or an employee acting for your business, is responsible for bodily injury or damage to property, the public liability policy will cover the legal representation/defence costs as necessary. Should the outcome of such a legal dispute be that your business is liable, the policy will also pay the compensation owed, up to the limit of indemnity on the policy.
Please refer to the applicable Policy Wording for a full list of what is covered under this policy.
Please refer to the applicable Policy Wording for a full list of policy exclusions.
Products liability provides indemnity against claims for bodily injury or property damage caused by a product which was manufactured and/or sold by your business. Products liability cover is included within Qdos public liability policies.
Employers liability will react in the event of injury, illness or accidental death of an employee caused by their service with your business. Employers liability insurance can be added to your public liability policy for an additional fee.
Public liability policies can be purchased with a range of indemnity limits (limits of cover). Qdos policies are offered with indemnity limits of £1 million, £2 million, £5 million and £10 million. Offshore workers can purchase cover at limits of £5 million and £10 million.
